One can combine camping with other water activities like expedition, water rafting, bird watching and trekking to waterfalls. Wildlife Safari
Sri Lanka has one of the highest rates of biological endemism in the world, be it plants or animals, and is among the top five biodiversity hotspots in the world. Of the ninety one species of mammals found in Sri Lanka, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears, leopards, sambars and wild buffaloes attract the most attention of wildlife enthusiasts. But Sri Lanka's rare mammals that are threatened with extinction due to habitat loss are the red slender loris, toke macaque and purple-faced langur, according to IUCN explanations.
Despite the mighty elephants and rare amphibians found in the country, birds are the crowning glory of Sri Lanka's wildlife. Sri Lanka boasts of around 433 bird species with 20 endemic species and another 80 species have developed distinct Sri Lankan races compared to their cousins on the Indian mainland.
Sri Lanka wildlife safaris are truly unique as you can experience the biodiversity of the dry zone and wet zone forests.
